History
The University of New York in Skopje (UNYS) opened its doors to Macedonian students in 2005, following a very successful three year presence of the New York College Skopje, the fifth campus of the NYC Educational Group. UNYS has recently acquired accreditation from the Macedonian Ministry of Education and Science. In October 2005, UNYS opened its new state-of-the-art campus near the Centre for Sport and Recreation in Saraj, Skopje. Today, students at UNYS have the option to study for accredited and prestigious bachelor and master degrees in a variety of majors.

Mission
The mission of the University of New York in Skopje is to offer students the opportunity to obtain a university degree at the Bachelor’s or Master’s level in a variety of academic and professional specializations; to provide them with the theoretical knowledge and applied skills, and confidence necessary to pursue a wide range of career paths and succeed in a diverse international work environment; and to prepare them to become pro-active and productive citizens of the world community.

Accreditation

The campus is beautifully laid out on a 4000 m2 picturesque and landscaped locale. Newly remodelled, the attractive university buildings include a large amphitheater, classrooms, computer labs, a library, study rooms, faculty and administrative offices, a cafeteria/restaurant, and student dormitories. It is a truly safe and relaxing study environment, allowing students to concentrate on their studies but also to liberally mingle with their peers. The campus also supports outdoor activities and sports facilities.

UNYS Faculties
UNYS has 5 faculties offering a number of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
The Faculties are:

• Faculty of Business Administration
• Faculty of International Relations
• Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technologies
• Faculty of Communications
• Faculty of English Language

Program Structure

The undergraduate programs are designed to be completed in four years and lead to the award of an accredited degree from the State University of New York, Empire State College or an accredited degree from the University of New York in Skopje.
                    
The postgraduate programs are designed to be completed in 15 months and lead to the award of an accredited degree from the Institute Universitaire Kurt Bosch (IUKB).

Admission to the programs is competitive. Requirements differ between undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
